Raw cashew shells, extracted oil residue and testa husk — by-products planned after our processing expansion.
In Ghana, the cashew shell — long considered waste — is becoming a valuable raw material that could open a market worth hundreds of millions of dollars per year, because cashew nutshell oil is an important industrial input.
The shell contains around 25% of a reddish-brown oil known industrially as Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL), a by-product of the roasting process. The shell itself is kidney-shaped, like the nut it protects.

The raw hard shell of cashew nuts before oil extraction — the primary raw material for cashew shell oil products.
The remains of the raw shell after the oil has been extracted — used as a high-calorific-value boiler fuel.
The thin skin (testa) covering the kernel — used for animal feed or as a low-pollution biofuel.
