Following our processing expansion, ICBC plans to supply various grades of cashew kernels, including W240, W320, W450, SW240, SW320, SW450, WS, WB, LP, SB, BB and more. Kernels are obtained by roasting, shelling and peeling raw cashew nuts (Anacardium occidentale L.), then graded by colour, shape and size.
Cashew kernels are versatile — used in salted cashews, honey cashews, whole-grain salt-roasted cashews, chili-garlic cashews, wasabi cashews, and in the production of cashew cheese and cashew butter.
Cashew kernels are graded by size based on the number of kernels per pound or kilogram. Sizing is compulsory for Extra (fancy) class and optional for Class I and Class II.
